Getting Started

1. What is a webcam model?
   A webcam model chats with members in a chat room while broadcasting live on a webcam, and makes money in the process.  Nudity is not required.  
    
2. Does this cost money?  
   No, becoming a model is free and easy.
    
3. What do I need to become a webcam model?  
   You will need a computer, webcam and a stable internet connection.  
    
4. How can I become a webcam model?  
   Becoming a model is easy; you will need a computer, webcam and a stable internet connection. Simply create a free account by clicking here.  Once created and activated, you’ll need to follow through the registration process.  After that, it can take up to 24 hours for your model account to be approved.  Once approved, you will receive a notification email, and you will be able to login to your account and start making money.  (“Here” should hyperlink to the model signup page).
    
5. Are only female models accepted?
   Anyone can be a model on the site as long as they are 18 year of age or older and have a valid state issued photo ID card.  
    
6. How much money can I earn?  
   You keep 70% of your sales. One token equals 10 cents, so a tip of 100 tokens would be $7.00 in cash to you. 'How much' depends on your success rate, how actively you promote yourself (Twitter, Blogs, etc.) and how many hours you work. Private shows are 40 tokens per minute and Group shows are 10 tokens per minute per viewer (minimum 3).
    
7. How do I get my money and how often?
   We offer to distribute your earnings via your Paxum account, ACH, or by a paper check.  Your earnings periods run from 1st day to the 15th day and from the 15th day to the last day of each month.  We will distribute your earnings on the next available business day after each earnings period.   
    
8. What would my work schedule be?  
   Work whenever you want for however long you want.  You decide when you want to go online.  

General

1. Can I upload photos and videos? 
   Yes, you can upload photos and videos from within your model dashboard or “My Account” area.   
    
2. Can I ban/block users?  
   Yes.  Models can block users by username, IP address, cities, states or countries around the world.  Models can also kick users from the room individually, or kick out all the guest users that haven’t tipped.  Models can even black out their audio/video stream from guest members, making their feed only visible to users with a registered account.
    
3. What is a Cam Score?
   A cam score is an automatic rating that is given to a model based on several factors including tips, ratings and site frequency of appearances.
    
4. Can I still receive tips if I am offline?  
   Yes, members can tip a model directly from their profile page when a model is not online.  
   
   
5. How do I turn the translation feature on?
   To enable the translation feature, please follow these directions. NOTE: If you do not turn this on
   translations will not work for you or the customers
        - While in your chat room, click on the “Settings” button (same screen you see when you first
   click “Broadcast Now”.)
        - Put a check in “Translate Chat” and select your language from the dropdown list
        - Click “Save Settings” when you are done
        - The translated text will be in parentheses
        - This is necessary for you to see their text translated as well as for them to see yours
    
6. What types of video files are accepted?
   All video files are accepted!
   
   To upload a video, log in to your model account and navigate to the model dashboard area (My Account section). Click on “Media Library”, and then click on “My Videos”.  Click the “Run Uploader” button and follow these steps:
   
   Step 1: Add Media
     - In the “Video” section click the “Browse” button to locate the video on your computer.
     -  Add the title of the video to the “Desired Title” section.
     -  Add a brief description of the video in the “Description” section.
     -  Choose a video category: Men, Transgender, Women, or None
     -  Then click “Add Video to List”
     -  If the video file is not .FLV or .MP4, skip to Step 2
     -  If the video file is a .FLV or .MP4 file, you will see the following:“This video format can be directly uploaded! Would you like to encode this video to different specifications?”
   
   The options are “Yes, I want to change my encoding settings” or “No, I would like to just upload this video”
     -  If you choose “Yes, I want to change my encoding settings”, see Step 2 below.
     -  If you choose “No, I would like to just upload this video”, you will be asked if you want to select more videos or begin upload process.
   
   Step 2: Change Encoding Settings
     -  Choose from the following video and audio bitrates – Low quality, Medium quality, High quality, or Custom quality
     -  You can set the video size, display aspect ratio, and if “custom quality” was chosen, you can adjust the framerate, video bitrate and audio bitrate
     -  Click “Apply Settings” when done
     -  You can choose to add more videos, or just upload and encode one file
   
   Step 3: Upload Files
     -  You will see a status bar of the upload process. Once done, you will see “Upload Complete”
     -  The video will be added to the “My Videos” section in your model dashboard.
   
   Note:
     -  When a file is encoded in the system, it may show as “Pending” for a few minutes in the “My Videos” section or until the encoding process is complete.
     -  After a video is uploaded you will need to open the video details page to set pricing, set free preview, or to publish the file.

    

7. Can I view a member's webcam while in chat? 
   Yes, you can view a member's webcam while in private chat only.  The member must first have their webcam enabled.  To view their webcam, click on the "Users Webcams" tab within your model chat area.  Hover your mouse over the member's video and click the "Play" arrow that appears.  This will open the video in a larger window.
